Lekaumoana/en

Fisilaumāli was an estate holder in the area of Pelehake, but a chief of very low rank, if a chief at all. Mataelehaʻamea, the Tuʻi Kanokupolu, sent his daugher Fusipala to marry him. In this way Mataelehaʻamea got a grateful vassal, who could supply him with a lot of goods. And Fisilaumāli's offspring got a high rank, (not he himself, as Tongan custom dictates) The child, Lekaumoana, was the beginning of the Tuʻipelehake line, which grew out later to a very high ranking title. The claim that the Tuʻipelehake originated with Talafale may have been an invention of that time to elevate the title even more. FOKI
